ROBERT WALLS 1950 - 2025
Robert Walls lived in Brunswick and attended Coburg High School from 1962 till 1967.
In his final year he was Head Prefect.
A highly skilled junior footballer, Robert was recruited by Carlton at the age of 15 and was playing in the senior team before he reached the age of 17. Although he was Captain of the CHS football team, he seldom played due to the restrictions placed on him by Carlton. However, it is recorded that he assisted the team in a coaching role.
Robert played over 250 games, with Carlton and Fitzroy, coached Fitzroy, Carlton and the Brisbane Bears and went on to have a long career in the media.
His career included four Premierships [three as a player and one as coach].
He was named in Carlton's Team of the Century and Hall of Fame.
In 2011 he was elevated to Legend Status.
Robert was diagnosed with an aggressive Blood Cancer in 2023 and passed away in May 2025.
