FEB/MAR, 2017
On Sunday, October 23rd2016, more than 1000 ex-students, friends and former teachers gathered at the new Coburg High School to celebrate the Centenary of our great school.
The feedback received has been very positive with many meeting with old friends, often after many years.
Some groups have started making arrangements for regular re-unions.
This is great to hear and we can assist in this regard.
Several of the 1964 stream who met up in October made a concerted effort to contact a large number of their
peers and held a very successful get together in late February – hopefully the forerunner to a regular event.
Thanks to the following for their help in making the day so successful;
The Principal, Staff and Students who assisted before and on the day,
The Parents Association members who assisted with parking, registration, book sales etc.
Lis Grove and Laura Donati for their excellent effort in writing our Centenary Book,
Craig Fryers for his excellent production and printing of the book.
Members of the High School Historical Group who worked tirelessly in the preceding months.
Many photos of the day can be seen on our web-site but we would welcome more. If you took photos, please send them, with names, so that we can add them.
Our special publication to celebrate the occasion “Loyal in All–the Centenary of Coburg High School”
was launched and well received on the day. Copies are still available at $20 + $5 postage.
Payment by cheque payable to “Coburg High School Historical Group” or by
Direct Credit to our bank account BSB 633 -000 A/c No 128796802

President-John Bold
Vice-President–Brenda Langmaid
Secretary–Tom Anderson
Treasurer–Don Trewella
Pauline Atkins had been Secretary for a number of years and we thank her for her efforts.

2017 Activities
There are still many tasks ahead of our Group and we have set out our agenda for 2017.
Tasks include the completion of the cataloguing of our memorabilia, creation and rotation of displays within the school, scanning of photos and negatives, researching notable former students, to list just a few.
We would welcome any ex-student, perhaps recently retired with a little spare time, to join us. We meet about
every six weeks at the school, usually on a Friday. Please contact us via our email or by phone.

and some were missed in the sorting that was then required. We apologise.
