MARGARET HESKETT [SISTER MARGARET ANNE]

Margaret Haslem Heskett was born on July 20th 1927. After attending Pascoe Vale P.S. she passed the entrance exam to attend Coburg H.S. in 1939. Margaret was an excellent student and passed all subjects with honours. She was also Head Prefect in her final year. Tennis was her sport at school and she was the sports champion. Like her brother Geoff, Margaret was a member of Moreland Tennis Club and still played weekly when 84 years old.
Subsequent to her time at Coburg High she attended University H.S. and after matriculating attended Melbourne University where she obtained a Science Degree.
Margaret continued her studies and eventually worked at Royal Melbourne Hospital. Eventually she found her religious calling and joined the Anglican order, Community of the Holy Name.
Margaret served in many places within the order including Melbourne, Adelaide, Goulburn and Papua New Guinea, finishing as chaplain of Box Hill Hospital for ten years. Margaret was then ordained as an Anglican priest and continued to take services at her local church.
Sadly, Margaret passed away in 2018.
